Individual Course Offering Descriptions

(4 - 8hrs) Powers To Arrest (Basic Guard Card)
This is the basic course for private persons seeking to be licensed as a Security Officer. Deals with Criminal Law,Civil Liability,Seaarch and Seizure,Duty and Authority. This class is required to obtain basic security officer registration.
Individuals seeking registration should have no felony convictions, and be prepared to pay the required fees to obtain the license. Contact school for specific information

(2 - 4hrs) OC Gas/Pepper Spray
This class is required by the California Department of Justice for all persons seeking to be licensed to carry chemical agents. Class covers the legal aspects for the use, and possession of these agents. The class also discusses the effects of these agents when used.
Class is open to both Security and Private Parties seeking required certification.

(8 - 14hrs) Police Side Handled, straight baton

(14 - 20hrs) Security Officer Firearms Training
This is the basic BSIS approved firearms training which covers legal, moral issues, situational shootings, shooting techniques, proper sighting methods, and range qualifications. Cost of class includes all materials, except initial state registration fees.

(4hrs) Firearms Requalification
This course is intended for re-examination requalification for the annual recertification for a single caliber of weapon. There will be an additional charge for multiple caliber of weapons. State recertification fee is also due.

(3 - 6hrs) Basic Firearms Safety Course
Instruction in basic handling of firearm, to include loading and unloading operation of the firearm, shooting techniques, home safety and basic firearms maintenance. For those desiring actual firing experience add three hours. The 6hr class will include range fee, ammunition, target gun rental.

This class is open to the public

( 4hrs ) Arrest Control/HandCuffing Techniques
This class teaches the correct methods for approach, stance, body language, officer safety techniques for control of suspects, how to apply control holds for suspect movement and handcuffing. Will include hand holds and baton holds.

(4 - 6hrs) Report Writing Techniques
Prepares the officer to take notes of incidents, interviews, etc and how to incorporate the information into a clear concise report of the incident, as well as listing, preserving evidence, and other related topics. Will include practical exercises.

Israeli Tactical Shooting

ISA provides value to the student in two areas:

-We will prepare you with the information necessary to understand and apply the sequences of handling a gun, by educating you on a theoretical level first, then building your mindset for the next level (e.g. the practical part).

-We will train you with the guiding principle of Israeli Tactical Shooting: to hit and neutralize the threat quickly and in the most instinctive way possible. Stress will be introduced into the training regimen in order to accustom trainees to the pressures associated with actual events. This common sense approach is specifically geared for deadly force situations rather than competition, to prepare you for real life threatening situations.

ITS 101 Basic I.T.S.

We designed this two-day course to introduce you to the basic Israeli instinctive shooting techniques. The training is geared toward giving you proficiency and ability to defend yourself with a handgun under realistic self-defense scenarios.

First we will train you in the proper grip techniques and the basic tactical shooting stance. With this foundation you can advance to the basics of Israeli Tactical Shooting, the point method of shooting. By the end of the first day of instruction, you will be proficient in employing correct trigger pull and cocking techniques while shooting with one or two hands.

During the second day the point methods of shooting will become ingrained in your abilities. We will train you in the proper drawing techniques and rapid fire shooting at various ranges. These techniques will be practiced under stress simulation that closely replicate the tension of an actual encounter.

Upon completion of this course, you will have an extensive depth of knowledge in combat pistol craft, and become proficient in using your skills in most self defense scenarios. You will be able to get your handgun into action fast, using the Israeli “Condition 3" Draw/Fire Sequence. This has been proven to be the fastest, most effective and safest mode of carrying a handgun.

ITS 102 - Advanced I.T.S. Level 1
This two-day course will make you proficient in engaging a target in a 360-degree radius, a critical skill needed to cope effectively with any target that is not directly facing you. As in all courses, ITS-102 begins with an intensive review of the critical elements in previous courses. From there you will be introduced to the principals of traversing that includes: traversing from a stationary location, after walking, after running, in a standing position, in a kneeling position, in a kneeling position after running, and engaging targets behind you.

Upon completion of this course, your abilities and confidence in engaging different targets from varied locations and positions will greatly increase.

ITS 103 - Advanced I.T.S. Level 2

This intensive two-day course is designed to teach you the skill needed to react properly and quickly in stress situations. After an intensive review of the critical elements in the previous three courses, you will be introduce to the proper methods of engaging extremely close and long range targets, and shooting at moving and pop-up targets. Training is done under varying degrees of stress for the sake of realism Upon completion of this course, you will gain an even greater ability to engage targets effectively and rapidly in a 360-degree radius.

ITS 104 - Intermediate I.T.S.

This two-day course was designed to expand your tactical resources and capabilities. After an intensive review of the critical elements in ITS-100, you will be introduced to one of the most important and versatile shooting positions: Kneeling. On the first day of this course, we will explain in depth the reasons, employment and importance of the kneeling position. Including: assuming a proper kneeling position, drawing an exposed weapon while assuming a kneeling position, drawing a concealed weapon while assuming a kneeling position, and assuming a kneeling position after the weapon is drawn. The course then progresses to expand your tactical resources and capabilities, by giving you the tools needed to make your weapon function when it absolutely must, under stress, faced with life threatening situations or with a jammed gun. During the second day we will teach you several advanced topics including: Rapid reloading techniques, tactical reloads, reloading an empty weapon, rapid diagnosis and the clearing of every type of jam that can occur with an autoloader. Rapid diagnosis and overcoming of other types of malfunctions will be covered, as well as shooting while on the move. Upon completion of this course, you will gain an extensive depth of knowledge of the kneeling position, and become proficient in effectively using your firearm under all circumstances and malfunctions.

ITS - 200 Mastery I.T.S. Level 1

This is an intensive five-day course incorporating all of the elements taught in ITS-100 and ITS-101. It is very focused, fast paced and action-packed. Perfect for the individual who is interested in learning the proper methods and techniques needed to use a handgun in self-defense scenarios.

This is an essential skill to surviving any protracted armed conflict.

In this five day course you will take the foundation and critical elements that were learned in the ITS 200 and ITS 201 classes and build on them. KAPAP

KP-100 Basic Kapap
This course will start you on the road to cultivating your fighting spirit so that when you are put in a situation in which you might have to protect yourself and your loved ones, you will have an arsenal of weapons and a better understanding of self-defense to fall back on. Unlike most styles of Martial Arts, Kapap does not take years of practice to be effective in most self defense scenarios. Due to the fact that Kapap is so easy to learn, we are able to offer an intensive 8 week course which will leave the student with a strong understanding of what true self-defense is really about. The student will move through the basics of Kapap in a brief amount of time, giving them a taste of how truly effective and devastating Kapap is.

At the end of the intensive eight week self-defense course the student will have the opportunity to be tested for the appropriate belt and join the ongoing Kapap classes or just take away the valuable information which was acquired in the course. Because Kapap was developed from the onset for the purpose of self defense, it is effective when performed by an adult or child on any size perpetrator.

KP-101 Rape Prevention
This two day intensive rape prevention course promises to instill in you a greater amount of confidence and control when faced with a violent or harassing situation. We will teach you the proper methods to end an encounter in the most effective and instinctive way possible, so that the attacker literally "won't know what hit him".

The first day of the seminar will include the fundamentals of self-defense focusing on specific attacks most often used by aggressors. The focus of the class will be to utilize kicks, punches, elbows, knees, gouges, bites, etc., to bombard the opponent into ceasing the attack long enough for you to escape and save your life. During the second day, we will introduce you to the ground fighting techniques and how it pertains to specific situations in regards to rape prevention.

While no one can insure that you will never be attacked, we can assure you that this course can help save your life if you are attacked! Not only will we give you the weapons to fight back with but we will also give you an understanding of how to recognize dangerous situations so that they may be completely avoided. The second day of the seminar shall only be open to the students who participated in the first day, but students are welcome to just take the first day and come back at any time for the second.

KP-102 Stick, Knife Defense
This one day seminar on knife and stick defense, will teach you the basic skills to defend yourself against an attacker who is armed with a stick or a knife. All of the techniques were born in actual combat on the battle fields and streets of Israel, so their effectiveness goes without saying. Many different angles of attack will be covered with both weapons, so be prepared for a full day workout. This seminar is a must for those who really have an interest in surviving a situation where you are confronted by an attacker with a weapon. Due to the fact that Kapap is based on instinctive reaction techniques this course is especially valuable because when a weapon is introduced into the arena you have no time to think, it must all be an instinctive reaction.

Tactical Assault Team

The establishment of tactical assault and SWAT teams is a particularly complex task, necessitating multidisciplinary know-how and experience:
- Screening candidates;
- Developing a comprehensive training program covering all relevant aspects - both theoretical (security doctrines, etc.) and practical (the use of cold weapons and firearms, hand-to-hand combat, etc.);
- Developing customized operational procedures, focusing particularly on a wide variety of attack scenarios required to effectively counter various threats;
- Determining the required security equipment (from weapons through communications to vehicles);
- Formulating a well-structured exercise and drill program
ISA has successfully established tactical assault and SWAT teams for various governmental clients around the world, and has trained them to carry out complex missions, including the safe release of hostages. When requested, we also conduct periodic surprise exercises to verify the continued high level of performance of these teams.

Bomb Squad

ISA professional staff, which includes former senior members of elite Israeli police units, possesses extensive expertise in the establishment and management of bomb squads, also including canine units. The units are established to detect explosives and dismantle or detonate them in a controlled manner, using innovative means and methods, including robots.

Aviation Security

ISA has developed training programs for all positions included in aviation security units - Security Agents, Supervisors, Security Managers, Air Marshals and more. These programs are designed on the basis of proven aviation security methodologies implemented at El Al Israel Airlines, whose security system is renowned worldwide.
All ISA aviation security trainers are former members of the security unit protecting El Al, who are closely familiar not only with the theoretical material, but more importantly - with every aspect of aviation security operations - from their own experience.
Aviation security training covers a wide range of topics, including, for example, security screening of passengers, including the detection of suspicious signs; security screening of hand and hold baggage; and aircraft search. Additional topics, such as security handling of caterers, cleaners, etc., may also be added if desired by the client.
Training includes role play and simulations for enhanced effectiveness.

Facility Security

ISA has developed training programs for security units assigned to protect sensitive facilities. While the basic part of these programs is identical, they differ in specific topics relevant to particular types of facilities, taking into account their special characteristics, the population that frequents them and the activities carried out in them - for example, the residences and offices of heads of state, governmental buildings, essential infrastructure (communications facilities, energy production and storage facilities, etc.) and the like.

Air marshal tactics
This course is designed to impart to the student a high level of skill in one of the most important and sensitive issue. This section covers air tactics as well as an understanding of when and how to employ it properly in different situations. It then progresses to an in-depth understanding of the importance, reasons, and employment of the different tactics in the air plan.

Aircraft interdiction
This course is designed to introduce the student to aircraft take-over techniques. Training is geared toward realism, and the objective is to gain the ability to function successfully under the stress of an actual encounter. This is accomplished through rigorous training and stress simulation exercises that closely replicate the stresses of an actual encounter.

Bus and train interdiction
This course is designed to greatly expand the student’s tactical resources and capabilities. It will give the student the tools he or she needs to make their tactical decision when it absolutely must – under stress, faced with a life threatening situation. This section will not only give the student confidence, but also the experience the trainee needs to make these techniques work for you when you need them.

Building and home high risk entry
This course is designed to greatly expand the student’s tactical resources and capabilities. This course gives the trainee the tools he or she needs to work as time when it absolutely must--under stress. This section will not only give the student confidence, but also the experience the trainee needs to make these techniques work for him/her when you most need them.

Ground tactics
On the street, the vast majority of fights end up on the ground. This course is designed to enable the student to overcome many common difficulties encountered in ground fighting and win.

Tactical pistol
This segment of the course is designed to introduce the student to Israeli instinctive shooting techniques. Training is geared toward realism, and the objective is to gain the ability to function successfully under the stress of an actual encounter. This is accomplished through rigorous training and stress simulation exercises that closely replicate the stresses of an actual encounter. Rapid fire, multiple targets, varying ranges and shooting under stress are all covered in this module.

Tactical rappelling
This course is designed to impart to the student a high level of skill in one of the most important and difficult subject. This section covers the principal of rappelling as well as an understanding of when and how to employ it properly to meet different tactical situations. It then progresses to an in-depth understanding of the importance, reasons, and employment of the rappelling in different tactical situation.

Team movement and searches
This course is designed to greatly expand the student’s tactical resources and capabilities. This course gives the trainee the tools he or she needs to work as time when it absolutely must--under stress.
